Count Us Kurds works to build a safe and independent international platform that makes Kurdish communities visible, stronger and connected through a voluntary digital census.
Millions of Kurds live across the world, both in our homelands and throughout the diaspora, yet there is still no official, collective count of how many we are, where we live or how our communities grow. That gap keeps us invisible in statistics, education, research, media and international decision-making. Count Us Kurds was created to change that — safely, independently and led by the people, so we can tell our own story while respecting privacy and anonymity.

Goals – what we aim to achieve
These goals build the trusted infrastructure Kurds need to count ourselves, protect our data and organise globally.
1
Goal 1 – Build a safe and independent digital census
Create a global, secure and voluntary database that shows Kurdish presence everywhere without collecting personal identifiers.
2
Goal 2 – Connect Kurdish communities worldwide
Link associations, cultural centres, researchers, students, entrepreneurs and organisers across borders.
3
Goal 3 – Strengthen Kurdish representation and future
Use facts and statistics to prove our presence, expand culture and education, reinforce civic projects and shape a clear vision for tomorrow.
4
Goal 4 – Lay the foundation for a Kurdish statistics bureau
Prepare for a future Kurdistan Central Bureau of Statistics (KCBS) with international credibility and long-term governance.
Purpose – why this initiative exists
Millions of Kurds live across the world, both in our homelands and throughout the diaspora, yet there is still no official, collective count of how many we are, where we live or how our communities grow. That gap keeps us invisible in statistics, education, research, media and international decision-making. Count Us Kurds was created to change that — safely, independently and led by the people, so we can tell our own story while respecting privacy and anonymity.
Make our people visible
Collect and present Kurdish presence worldwide in ways we control ourselves while protecting everyone’s privacy.
Build community networks
Create bridges between Kurdish communities, regardless of country, dialect or organisational form.
Strengthen culture and presence
Give communities the data and tools to grow culture, education and social projects wherever we live.
